The Eiffel Tower in Paris, France, paid tribute to the victims of the recent earthquake in Morocco by switching off its lights. The earthquake, which occurred on Friday with a magnitude of 6.8, resulted in a tragic loss of over 2,000 lives, primarily concentrated in Al Haouz province and Taroudant. Among the casualties, more than 2,000 people were injured, with 1,404 in critical condition. In a gesture of solidarity with Morocco, the French government made the decision to turn off the Eiffel Tower's lights at 11 pm on Saturday evening.
